amelia's amelia

this is why i even pulled out the icky red ink. i had the red stamp and i could not think of a single color to use with that stamp, other than red. any suggestions?

  1. grey or silver? nice lettering, btw. is the red difficult to letter with, or is it mainly the color you don't like?

  2. the ink is a bottle of calli brand ink that i bought to match some invitations and i just don't like that brand. the shade of red is sort of *bloody* so, it is icky on two fronts. silver or grey are both good choices. thanks. it's been over a week without any comments, so i was wondering if people were getting bored with the blog. thanks for commenting.

  3. oh, red calli - now i understand. that is a really nasty little bottle of ink. i used to use that out at the renaissance festival, and it was always so hard to work with. and the black calli would grow mold in the bottle - as if lettering out in the open air, with all the dirt, rain, wind, and straw wasn't challenging enough!

  4. thank you for validating that it is the ink and not my ineptitude.

  5. and speaking of ineptitude, i addressed over a hundred addresses onto the wrong envelopes. lucky for me, they were all spare envelopes. so, i only lost my time. and double lucky for me, it was gel pen writing...this is one mistake i do not expect to ever repeat... i wonder how many people go back and read the lengthy conversations in the comment section.

  6. at least one. i've not visited some of our other lengthy conversations in a while, though i do try to keep up with the most recent lengthy conversation. just remember, *blame the ink, not the scribe.* maybe we should make that into a t-shirt & sell it at iampeth. don't know what to say about the wrong envelope situation - what was it? you lettered on off-off-white instead of just-plain-off-white? if the clients are going to split hairs over our envelope choices, they are going to have to pay us double.
